JOB DESCRIPTION: Pharmaceutical Sales Rep. - Philadelphia, PA
* Under close supervision, plans and organizes the territory for thorough, effective and economic coverage; calls on new or established customers to obtain orders, establish new accounts, and increase and strengthen distribution and sales volume.
* Obtains current information from the market place regarding competitors' pricing, products, new products, merchandising techniques, and transmits significant developments to supervisor.
* Uses price lists, sales promotion literature, advertising reprints, samples, displays and product knowledge to make sales; has complete knowledge of products and applicable anatomy and physiology.
* Uses this knowledge in the implementation of company sales programs and marketing objectives.
* Maintains proper customer call records, submits regular reports to management. Keeps management apprised of activities in the territory.
* Travels in territory (of which 20% - 25% is overnight travel) primarily by automobile adequately stocked with samples, literatures and displays, all of which are kept in clean and orderly condition.
* Attends all company functions as directed (district, regional and national sales meetings, medical conventions, training programs, etc.).
* Makes full use of equipment assigned and keeps it in excellent working condition.
REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS: Pharmaceutical Sales Rep. - Philadelphia, PA
* Bachelor's degree required, Life Sciences or Business preferred
* 1+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience OR 2+ years of documented, successful outside sales experience
* Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
* Ability to effectively present information to customers, supervisory and executive management.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Must have the ability to learn technical and medical information, as well as a working knowledge of Managed Care.
* Must have good presentation skills.
* Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
* Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds.
* Must be a licensed driver.
