Position Summary:

Major Duties and Responsibilities (including supervising others):
We are seeking to recruit an Analytical Biochemist to develop bio-physical characterization methods for sub-unit vaccines vector based, VLP based vaccines and recombinant proteins. She/he will be responsible for new method development and protein characterization in support of process development and regulatory filings. The candidate will work on complex and technically demanding projects where analysis of data requires an evaluation of multiple variables. He/she must possess a successful track record showing technical proficiency, scientific creativity, and independent lines of thought.

As the position will require constant collaborative interactions with co-workers across functional groups, he/she must be able to work in a team structure and interface with different groups within research and development departments. In addition, she/he will have excellent leadership qualities, an ability to provide strategic direction for projects and scientific investigations. The candidate will present scientific data to both internal audiences within the company and external scientific colleagues. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity of being exposed to the CMC environment and will be encouraged to make contributions towards structure characterization for regulatory filings. Supervisory experience is required.


REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS: Scientist I II

Requirements/Qualifications:An Analytical Biochemist who must have strong expertise and hands-on experience in the field of proteomics, i.e., mass spectrometry, chromatography, protein chemistry, and bioinformatics. He/she has to demonstrate a proven record of being a fast learner, good communicator, thoughtful co-worker, and insightful team leader. Experience of protein characterization using chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, and mass spectrometry with deep understanding on protein structure and functions, as well as knowledge on virology. molecular biology and immunology is a plus. The candidate must have experience in glycoprotein characterization using HPLC/UPLC and Mass Spectrometer. Experience with affinity binding technologies such as Biacore and Octet is preferable. Experience with Design of Experiment (DOE) and commercial statistical software is desirable. Excellent teamwork and communication skills (including documenting, writing, and presenting) are critical. Good multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills are essential. Supervisory, time/project management, and regulatory filing experience are desirable. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essentialExcellent teamwork and communication skills including good documentation and writing skills are critical.
