JOB DESCRIPTION: Manager, Corporate Accounting - Shared Service Center
- Work with business application managers and application consultants to configure ERP system to meet changing business needs - Assist in the leadership, project management and delivery of objectives supporting the Accounting transformation and the creation of a North American Shared Services Center. - Partner in championing change and the supporting projects. Ensure team understands the links between the changes and the strategic business direction. Assist direct reports with the vision, business case, and requirements for change. - Foster a climate that evaluates and creates” right practice” processes, structures and systems. Help staff translate new change goals into practical implementation steps. - Interview, hire and train staff, manage performance, develop and reward employees. Provide coaching and guidance to ensure a highly functioning organization to meet evolving customer requirements. - Monitor, evaluate and oversee operational efficiency improvements in the business processes and systems utilized to manage responsibilities. - Develop and maintain a customer service culture throughout the organization. - Assist in establishing and monitor necessary metrics to track accuracy, service level and productivity of all major services provided.. - Lead special projects as requested and perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining an uninterrupted daily workflow when the leader or other functional members are out of the office. - Review subsidiary systems feeds and interfaces, sub-ledgers and general ledgers, for propriety and accuracy. - Supervise completion of accounting studies, projects and analyses as requested by management. - Assist operational management and other financial departments of the Company with financial statement analysis and other inquiries. - Complete and assist in the completion of special projects, such as unscheduled presentations, operational planning, etc., by gathering data, formatting into documents, spreadsheets, etc. and generating copies or other media for presentation/distribution. - Identify accounting problems, researches possible solutions, and forms conclusions to present to management or other individuals involved. Correct problems. - Prepare year-end audit information for outside, independent auditors through development and maintenance of monthly general ledger subsidiary schedules and issuance of required audit work papers and schedules through coordination with Internal Audit. - Direct the activities of the Accounting function and assign duties to employees within the department. - Establish work standards and schedules and ensure their effective implementation in the organization; assign work to employees and train employees in work procedures and methods; review employees' work for adequacy and take steps to correct inadequate performance; approve employees' work schedules and time reports. - Manage positions and personnel to make best use of employees; select employees and develop their capabilities; plan for succession of key personnel; counsel employees effectively; administer discipline; pay administration; handle human resource matters in accordance with policy and procedures. - Manage the preparation and remittance of tax schedules - Review established accounting practices and procedures. Recommend changes in and additions to such practices and procedures. Implement such changes where applicable. Ensure that systems and procedures are in compliance with company policies, acceptable accounting practices, and applicable regulations. Communicate accounting policies and procedures to departments. Answer questions and resolves issues in a timely manner. - Ensure that the books and records of the balance sheet are maintained in accordance with local and generally accepted accounting principles and in compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures. - Serve as a resource to Accounting staff and assists in their training and coaching. - Accounting team lead for acquisitions
REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS: Manager, Corporate Accounting - Shared Service Center
- Country appropriate Accounting, Finance or Business Administration degree preferred; other degrees with 5 years functional experience (in addition to functional experience listed below) and/or work towards specific degree may be considered - CPA preferred - 7+ years Functional Experience - 5+Years Supervisory Experience - Effective time management skills with the proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities - Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a matrix organization and effectively build relationships with all levels of the organization - Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide train and develop people. - Ability to cultivate an environment focused on customer satisfaction, through building productive external and internal relationships - Ability to analyze customer needs through soliciting, evaluating and acting upon customer feedback - Excellent communication skills, strong customer relationships, management skills and team building competencies - Understanding of the requirements of managing the performance and resources of a team within a shared services environment - Proven experience pursuing tasks with energy, drive and follow through, especially in the face of resistance or setbacks - Knowledge of E-one system a plus
