JOB DESCRIPTION: Director, Customer Access Marketing
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing Excellence and Telaprevir Launch, the Director, Customer Access Marketing will focus on developing and executing the customer access strategy for the telaprevir launch. The incumbent will lead an in-depth analysis of the current payer landscape for HCV therapy including private and public payers as well as employers and other key stakeholders that influence access to and reimbursement of HCV therapies. The incumbent will work closely with other marketers to develop an integrated launch plan for telaprevir to ensure access barriers are removed and optimal reimbursement is achieved. In building the launch strategy, this individual will work closely with the Head of Managed Markets and Head of Health Economics, Outcomes and Value to develop the Value Platform for telaprevir.
Key Responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership: Work closely with Head of Managed Markets to develop and execute segment-specific strategies for key organizational customer segments including national and regional managed care plans, PBMs, Medicare, Medicaid, VA/DoD and employers to support the launch of telaprevir. Identify key opportunities to ensure access to the product and facilitate rapid uptake.
Value Platform: Work closely with Head of Managed Markets and the Head of Health Economics, Outcomes & Value to develop a compelling Value Platform for telaprevir with an emphasis on ensuring strong formulary access for telaprevir. Build and communicate burden of illness message and help payers understand clinical and economic benefit of telaprevir. Provide payer perspective for pricing analysis and recommendations.
Account Management Support: Work with Head of Managed Markets to ensure launch readiness of field account managers. Translate value platform into compelling messages and tactics to help facilitate coverage and reimbursement at launch.
REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS: Director, Customer Access Marketing
- Bachelor’s degree with a preference for an advanced business degree
- 10 + years progressive experience in healthcare marketing and/or related disciplines in the health care sector. Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical product planning and execution. Product launch experience preferred
- Strong and current knowledge of managed customer segments including public payers, private payers and employers
- Established understanding of the legal and regulatory environment
- Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to develop solutions to complex problems requiring the use of ingenuity and creativity
- Results oriented and excellent analytic, strategic, business planning, communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a highly matrixed environment
- Ability to multitask as well as be productive, strategic, creative and innovative in a dynamic, fast paced environment
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the established ability to effectively communicate across diverse audiences and influence cross functionally
