JOB DESCRIPTION: Deputy Director ICON Marketing
The Deputy Director ICON Marketing will lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies for 40+ countries in the Intercontinental region (across Asia Pacific, Latin America and Middle East/Eastern Europe) for the entire Talecris product portfolio. He/she will lead all promotional activities including directing, organizing, planning and controlling the development and implementation of advertisement materials, meetings and KOL development for all ICON countries. Additionally, the Marketing Director will prioritize and lead all activities related to meetings and conventions for the entire region.
1. The Deputy Director ICON Marketing will develop, direct, and execute, at the senior mastery level, the marketing strategies for the ICON markets. This will include detailed promotion strategies, promotion plans, budgets and programs for the entire portfolio of products at Talecris, in 40+ countries. The Director of marketing will also take the lead in ensuring that the ICON marketing strategy is aligned with US, Canada and GmBH marketing efforts, when warranted.
2. Interface with the regional Sales Deputy Directors (Asia Pacific, Latin America and Middle East/Eastern Europe), the distributors worldwide, and the Head of Operations in terms of facilitating the implementation of the marketing strategies.
3. Responsible for the analysis, at the senior mastery level, of ICON marketing results against plans and budgets and devise marketing procedures to assure profitability.
4. Responsible for the planning directing and controlling of ICON’s promotional tactics, stimulating creativity for promotion of products. The Director of marketing will also play a pivotal role is communicating to the broader organization new products/packaging requests, as mandated by changes in the market place.
5. The Deputy Director ICON Marketing will, at the senior mastery level, manage the entirety of the ICON’s international conferences/congresses program, as well as speaker programs, in all 40+ countries. The Director of marketing will also interface with key opinion leaders in 40+ countries.
6. Be the central point of contact for ICON at the Legal, Medical and Regulatory review meetings.
REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS: Deputy Director ICON Marketing
MS, MBA or Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Economics, Marketing or equivalent strongly preferred. Minimum of 10 years of Marketing or relevant experience, including 5+ years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, is required. International experience required.
Sound understanding of brand management principles and tactics.
Project Management skills preferred
Sound budget, P&L and financial understanding with a qualitative cost to value appreciation.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required
Computer literacy
