JOB DESCRIPTION: Finance Alliance Manager
This individual will provide financial leadership for Telaprevir collaborations with Business Partners and any future alliances. Lead the coordination of finance operating requirements within Vertex and the partner company finance teams. Responsibilities include program budgeting, forecasting, reimbursement revenue and billing coordination, reporting, and the monthly and quarterly reconciliation and true-up. Collaborate with corporate development and the program team on the long range plan. Develop effective reporting on program related commitments and expense.
Key Responsibilities & Detail
* Lead the annual budget process working directly with Vertex senior leadership and finance and program management counterparts at partner companies
* Actively partner with Vertex program management, operating groups, and Partner finance staff to establish and refine processes and tools for effective information exchange
* Develop concise, effective reporting to guide appropriate partner interaction and internal review of expenses, FTEs, and revenue
* Maintain the reimbursement revenue forecast and calculation of monthly reimbursement revenue
* Lead coordination for monthly and quarterly accrual and billing processes
* Lead refinement of project accounting and reporting for Telaprevir
* Collaboratively work with accounting group and auditors on revenue recognition and reconciliation of activities
* Maintain the Telaprevir Profit & Loss statement and review monthly with the program team and senior leadership
* Support financial analysis as needed by the program team and joint management committees
REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS: Finance Alliance Manager
*
Bachelors degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience; MBA and accounting experience/CPA desired
* Demonstrated strong leadership attributes and the ability to work effectively with senior staff
* Demonstrated ability and willingness to address both broad strategic and detailed operational issues
*
Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to generate concise reports and verbal updates
*
Strong interpersonal skills are required as is the ability to effectively influence others
*
Demonstrated strong analytical skills; ability to understand and perform modeling
*
Familiarity or experience with pharmaceutical research and development process a plus
Flexibility to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
