JOB DESCRIPTION: Director, Financial Planning Analysis
Title: Director, Financial Planning & Analysis

Position Summary: The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis is a strategic business partner to MedImmune, the biologics division of AstraZeneca, a fully integrated business with revenues in excess of $1.4bn, over 3,000 employees globally and over 100 product candidates in the research pipeline.
Major Duties and Responsibilities (including supervising others):
? Partner with the CFO and MedImmune Executive Team (MET) to advance the process of strategic planning, the Long-Range Operating Plan (LROP), and ensuring strong linkage between assumptions, financial projections and strategic objectives.
? Lead interaction with AstraZeneca (AZ) Group Financial Reporting and ensure proper communication of the business plan and status.
? Advance working capital metrics forecasting accuracy and lead the effort to provide visibility and management of metrics.
? Lead and prepare strategic business analysis that drive enhanced shareholder value.
? Build and drive an efficient, user friendly process for developing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
? Develop methods, procedures, reports, and databases to enhance monthly management reporting .
? Evaluate long-term budgeting resource requirements (headcount, software, etc.)
? Prepare and give presentations for Executive and Senior Management.
? Ensure timely communication to business leaders at all levels of key financial issues.
? Core Competencies in financial planning for a global enterprise, worldwide business unit budgeting and reporting, financial modeling and analysis, capital budgeting and strong familiarity with corporate accounting.
? Direct in-house training and assistance to departmental staff on the preparation of budgets and projections.
? Provide ad-hoc financial analysis along with financial presentations for the Executive Team.
REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS: Director, Financial Planning Analysis
Special Skills/Abilities: ? Financial Planning experience with a biotech/pharma company highly desired. System knowledge of SAP and/or TM1 preferred.? Solid management skills leading teams of professionals. We seek a gifted manager with a strong desire and track record of mentoring/growing team members. ? Expert knowledge of Excel and Power Point. ? Previous experience implementing and using enterprise-wide planning tool with knowledge of TM1/Cognos or Hyperion software a plus.Additional characteristics will include: ?
