JOB DESCRIPTION: SCIENTIST

We are looking for an experienced scientist to join the Molecular Biology research team in Lake County, IL, USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the cloning, expression, purification and preliminary characterization of recombinant proteins. The candidate will have knowledge of basic molecular biology including plasmid preparation, PCR and DNA sequencing as well as experience with electrophoresis and column chromatography. The successful candidate will be self motivated and a team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.

REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS: SCIENTIST

Skills/Experience Requirements Basic Qualifications:
Experience in molecular biology techniques related to protein expression in prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems. The ability to generate stable eukaryotic cells lines expressing recombinant proteins and bioinformatics is a plus. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to work with existing team members in planning and executing experiments and analyzing data. The individual will be required to present weekly progress during weekly team meetings and at progress reports to management.

Preferred Qualifications:
Molecular biology and protein purification experience and a background in biochemistry or related field preferred. Educational requirements: B.S./M.S. in biochemistry or molecular biology or similar field with at least 2 years relevant experience.
