JOB DESCRIPTION: Sr Physician Education Manager
To direct all physician training and education, as well as programs in support of the Endovascular Innovations product platforms and related therapies. Lead and manage a team of professionals responsible for creating and delivering all training, educational and value added programs and tools designed to provide physicians the skills training and therapy awareness necessary to use Medtronic’s products safely and effectively. Deliver programs, services and materials to build skill sets, increase awareness, ensure regulatory compliance to increase customer loyalty
REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS: Sr Physician Education Manager
Manage the development and execution of device and therapy training on Endovascular Innovation’s products to support product launches, marketing strategies, and to ensure compliance with PMA requirements.
Identify, develop, and maintain contracts for physician speakers/presenters, physician proctors and film reviewers.
Build network of relationships with key opinion leaders in order to design and facilitate educational materials and training programs.
Ensure written policies and procedures are in place to maintain regulatory and PMA compliance.
Develop strong relationships with key customers, physician advisory board members and physician training partners.
Build and develop a team of program managers, trainers, and coordinators that can execute the business unit marketing and training strategies. Motivates, influences, and leads group to achieve common goals and objectives. Anticipates, identifies, and resolves high-level problems associated with completing projects and executing programs.
Develop and execute a Vascular Fellows Program to build loyalty and educate physicians early in their career on Medtronic and relevant product lines.
Manage an expense budget to the annual operating plan. Provides input to AOP within functional area and participates in development of cost center budget to maximize business results. Exercises considerable latitude in determining annual objectives and approaches to meeting departmental goals.
Collaborate with a cross functional group including the General Manager, VP of Sales, Regional Sales Managers, Director of Marketing, Customer Service, Legal and Regulatory personnel, and Director of Quality to create customer programs that support business unit strategies and are compliant with regulatory and Business Conduct Standards.
Lead continuous efforts to support the US field including educational tools, physician referral website, proper targeting for ongoing programs.
Coordinate efforts with Product Marketing and Market Development teams to successfully execute marketing activities at society meetings, conventions, and Medtronic customer programs.
Manage an audit process to ensure the quality, completeness, and timeliness of compliance of materials for physicians and sales force.
Analyze competitive marketing and training activities, as well as benchmark other MDT business units to determine best practices.
Manages additional projects, performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required and minimum 5 years of success in medical sales/training/marketing, including positions of increasing responsibility and documented results.
Experience with Surgical or Endovascular product sales, training and/or product management.
Experience in the design and development of physician education training and materials, and as an instructor or facilitator in a clinical setting.
Ability to travel at least 30%, US.
Prior successful management experience, people and fiscal budget management.
