JOB DESCRIPTION: Technical Svc Spec
To provide consultation to physicians, health care professionals, Medtronic field personnel, Legal Department, Marketing, Education, Research and Development (R&D), Quality Assurance (QA), and other in-house areas on 1) technical aspects of Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management (CRDM) products (external, and supporting applications), 2) related device support concepts, application, system, and connectivity problems, 3) external device diagnostics and associated peripherals (monitors, modules, etc.), and 4) EGM/EKG data acquisition. The hours of this position are 9am - 6pm, Mon-Fri.
REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS: Technical Svc Spec
• Provide direct consultation on Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management (Medtronic and competitive) products (that is accurate, thorough, timely, and tailored to the customers needs. This service is provided 7 days a week/24 hours a day, which is shared among other consultants. • Report all customer issues and product problems in the technical database. • Expand strong communication networks across business units, and other related business operations (especially those requiring 7 day/24 hour coverage), key legal and regulatory functions, and the field (DM’s, Reps, CS’s, TFE’s, FCE’s, and other support personnel). • Utilize technology and systems required to support job functions (e.g., PC computer systems, MS Office/Outlook, cell phones, pagers, ACD phone systems, etc.). • Expand related device therapy concept knowledge and device systems through continuous participation in training and educational programs for health care professionals and field personel (e.g., seminars, self-study programs, workshops, literature review). • Draft and review written documentation in the form of Standard Letters, e-mail, or letters describing Medtronic’s position on device function and response to specific situations (e.g. – electromagnetic interference (EMI), cautery, etc.). • Using Medtronic and industry publications research issues and remain current on new products, new techniques, and new indications for devices. • Lead department teams by facilitating meetings, tracking progress, and reporting status on a periodic basis. • Potential for minimal travel (10%)
• Bachelors Degree • 4+ years experience in a customer facing role • Previous experience in a field, clinical or IT environment • 1+ years experience in a regulated environment • Experience with computer application skills • Must be able to provide on-call coverage
